New Sport For Croghan
For a few weeks before Christmas, Ms O’ Hagans class learned how to play ” Spikeball”. Spikeball is a game like volleyball but bit more complicated. It was made to encourage young kinds to start playing volleyball. When we started learning how to play, Ms O’ Hagan announced that there was going to be a tournament after Christmas. She said that she would pick 3 boys and 3 girls. There would also be 1 girl sub and 1 boy sub. The competition was going to be held in the Abbey Community Collage in Roscommon town. Ms O’ Hagan had a very hard time choosing the team but in the end she picked: Jodie, Bronagh, Molly, Nikita, Conan and Stephan. The subs were Bronwyn and Darragh. On the 23rd of January the 6 players and Ms O’ Hagan drove up to Roscommon. We were called “The Croghan Spikers. We played our matches and in the end we came 3rd. We had a great time playing Spikeball.

Golfing Comes To Croghan N.S
On the 7th of June 2016. Two professional golfers came to our school. They taught us all some golfing skills. We all learned some nice tips and tricks to help us improve. The golf instructors came from Carrick On Shannon Golf Club. First of we were split into three groups and we all went to different stations. On the first station we had to hit the ball as hard as we could using a driver. On the next station we used an iron and we had to hit the target on the wall. On the last station we had to use a putter and hit the target quite like the second station. We had lots of fun at golfing.
