Activities in Croghan school 2016/17
Gaelic training has recommenced with Bernie Shannahan coming to train 3rd, 4th , 5th and 6th class boys and girls on Fridays .
6th Class represented the school in Ballyhanaus gaelic skills day .
Soccer training has recommenced for 5th and 6th class boys and girls on Tuesdays.
Cross Country training is underway and teams from 3rd, 4th,5th and 6th represented the school in the Roscommon Cross country Championships in Roscommon Racecource on Oct 5th .Well done to all those who participated. A huge congratulations to Patrick and Declan kennedy who came 1st and 2nd in the 3rd and 4th class boys race …. a huge achievement !!! Our 4th class boys team and 6th class girls Rachel O Connor and Helena Reynolds qualified to represent Roscommon in the Connaught Championships in Sligo It in sat 15th Oct .
Irish Dance . Practice is underways for the figure dance team who will represent the school in Scór na bpaistí in Elphin on Friday 28th Oct .
6th Class underwent their safe cycling training last week . They spent the day learning new skills and practicing safe cycling techniques .
Our new year campaign to walk to school has begun again with
” Walk on Wednesdays “
Parents are asked to encourage their children to walk to school by parking and walking for some of the journey at least . Parking is available at the old school or the “store” in the village and the children are reminded to use the footpath at all times . High vis jackets should be worn . ( a certain number of these are available in school if you do not own one )
